Maintaining wellness is critical to high performance and longevity. This two-day workshop aims to address the significant stress and burn-out faced by special victim prosecutors by combining topic specific legal principles with sessions focused on wellbeing and building connections with other prosecutors working in the field.

Using historical images and other records from the Holocaust, this course engages law enforcement professionals in a dialogue about their critical role in today’s communities and the importance of core values and personal responsibility in ensuring the integrity and vibrancy of democracy. Starting with personal reflections and then working through the examination of the legal and political framework of Nazi Germany, this program concludes with consideration of how “What You Do Matters” every day.

Firearms are part and parcel of the criminal justice system, and prosecutors need a working knowledge of how they operate. This two-day course will equip prosecutors with an understanding of the parts of a firearm, different types of firearms, and various other topics. The course is open to law enforcement to further their understanding of firearm laws, gunshot wounds, and other emerging topics. The course will also include range time to put newfound insights to practical use.

The NC District Attorneys Association (NCDAA) meeting is a statewide training program devoted exclusively for prosecutors to provide 12 hours of continuing legal education credit, typically including 2 hours of Ethics,1 hour of Technology,1 hour of Professional Wellbeing, and 8 hours of General credit. The NCDAA calls upon the collective skills of the State’s top criminal law experts, guest speakers, experienced prosecutors, and others with the required depth of knowledge to provide a comprehensive continuing legal education program.

This meeting is designed specifically for Administrative Assistants in the District Attorney offices. The focus will be on exploring effective management styles and the essential administrative duties required to support a well-functioning and successful prosecutor’s office.
